2024 GOLDEN YEARS VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

The 2023 Golden Years Volleyball Tournament kicked off our summer volleyball events!

We fielded 18 of the oldest players present on the beach. Coming in at 3rd place was veteran Kevin Beard and Scott Cuda. Long-time Sano legend, Scott French teamed up with Jaime Sutton to place second. First place went to one of the great Sano players of all time, John Safarik who teamed up with Ellie Hammargrin to be crowned the champions.

Big shout out to Kevin Beard for providing custom-made trophies for the finalists. Also, we were blessed by Nancy (Duesler) Metzger, who was kind enough to deliver several well-renowned, highly sought-after “Duesler Carvings” that were hand-carved by the great Wally Duesler himself. Jen Cuda and Pam Brown were a big help with tournament organization and store operations, while Pat Murphy was responsible for the play-by-play announcing. It was another memorable San O’ Sunday and the surf was pumping!!
