E.J. Oshier wins the Spirit of San Onofre award for 2006 presented by last years winner Sherry Wolfe. E.J. has been a mainstay at San Onofre since the 30's. He was in charge of beach maintenance for the club during many of the private years and kept the place spotless. Although E.J. had to give up surfing several years ago as he neared his 90th birthday, he still comes down every Wednesday afternoon for the weekly music sessions that he helped start almost 70 years ago.
